Quick and Easy Website Maintenance: The Pingdom Hack

On Chunk Of Change, I tend do a lot of talking about “big picture” stuff (like unique value proposition and “-est”s).  And, yes, I know, it can be overwhelming at times.

pingdomSo, to offer you a much-deserved rest, this week’s post is just an easy peasy little hack.  All I’m suggesting is that you sign up for a free trial of Pingdom.  Bam!

Note: I’m not affiliated with Pingdom in any way; I’m just a fan.

Pingdom is a simple website maintenance tool that notifies you the second your site goes down.  According to the maker, “When something happens, you’ll receive alerts via email and SMS before your customers start to contact you.”  It’s been a life saver for me and, thus, I’m passing this gem on to you!

1All you have to do is provide an email address, your website info, and set up a password and you’re ready to roll.  Best of all, Pingdom isn’t in the email spamming business, so no worries there.

Whenever there’s an outage, you can check out a bevy of useful reports and graphs.  Also, you can take a look at specific interactions within your site, if you choose.

The service is free for the first 30 days.  After that, monthly plans start at just $13.71.

Now, don’t say I never give you any simple homework.  Enjoy!
