Make This Your Year!

I’ve had a great career in business. Then, I had a daughter, and like many parents, I wanted more time to be with her yet still have a career and income. I started my own business. It’s been a success that gives me freedom and flexibility plus a steady paycheck.

What’s exciting about the world today is that you don’t need to launch a full-blown, big business to be your own boss. You don’t need to have the capital or facility to go on your own. Of course you can start that yoga studio you’ve always dreamt of or whatever business you want. But the line between entrepreneurship and employment has expanded where solo entrepreneurs, freelance and contract workers can have great, long-range careers and income — without having to run a major company.

What I discovered along my journey is I really love is helping others and that’s when ChunkOfChange.com was born, and when I began writing books and speaking about how to succeed in your career and business. This is in addition to my day job, and balancing it all is both exhilarating (and sometimes exhausting), but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s the new on-demand workforce, and that’s what ChunkOfChange.com is all about. It’s your guide to the new era of the “gig economy,” a place where flexible, contract and freelance workers can get tools, insight and information to build careers and succeed in the on-demand market.

As an individual and a business owner, I’ve been on both sides of the equation in the gig economy. I know what it takes to be hired — and why a business chooses you. I also know the pitfalls to avoid when hiring independent workers and how to get the best work from your team.

Maybe you’re like me and have a kid, where you want to be part of the dance recitals and homework but still want or need a career. Or, you might be retired from your full-time job but miss working. Whatever your skills and situation might be, now’s the time where we can all live our best lives and work — and the time to do it is now.

Are you ready? Get started with a few of the resources here and here.

I’ll be with you all the way!
