Liar, Liar

how-to-handle-review-fraudIn my last post, I talked about your three options for responding to online reviews about your business.

But what do you do if an inflammatory remark gets posted by a competitor, a former employee, a spammer, or an ex-girlfriend? It’s a rare circumstance but, unfortunately, a particularly difficult one to address.

So, you actually have a fourth option for responding to your online reviews. If a post is truly fraudulent or severely inappropriate, you may need to…

…take action by asking a site owner to remove a specific comment completely from their system.

Regardless of the source, each site has their own way of dealing with these issues. The best thing to do is simply contact the site owner directly. Either they’ll point you to the right channel or investigate the issue personally.
